What I am doing to add to my income

Since I last posted about what I am doing to add income to my Social Security benefits, I have been doing several things. I have been upgrading my exitsting websites and getting more content added to them so the search engines will hopefully pick them up.

It seems like the more you study different aspects of website building, there is a never ending supply of information, that you have to set back, take a deep breath, take a moment to re-focus on where you want to go and keep plugging away.

I use alot of forum help on my different sites as there is a wealth of information that other people have discovered, and saves alot of time for you that you don't have to sort yourself. On forums you can use a search and come up with quite a few ideas that other people have used.

There are quite a few new things coming together for me, such as leaning how to use Twitter and Facebook for places for people to find you.
Because if you don't have people you won't have sales and that is what this is all about.

Oh, Yes, This is a new ebsite I am working on, Please check it out.

What I Do About Adding Income As A Senior

What I Do About Adding Income As A Senior
I started buying for resale for many years ago. This really started after my mother passed away and I was left to handle her beautiful antique collection which she had purchased for several years. Since I was the only one available to do this, it launched me on my job of buying and selling antiques and whatever else took my fancy.

It has been a very interesting and enjoyable (most of the time) business. I had a large family, 8 children, so had never had any qualifications to work in the market place, except for factory work which I did some.

Over the years I have had physical shops that I enjoyed, but tied me down a lot more than I wanted, as we traveled a lot and it hindered me from doing that…
Then I entered the internet back in 1999. That was a life saver for me as my husband passed away that year and so did part of my income.

So I launched my internet business with my own website which I designed after going to college for a year for web design. When I got it up and running I found that there was a lot more to being successful on the internet then just a nice website.

I have spent alot of time in studying different aspects of the internet and find that is forever changing in many ways.

I have a good e-Bay store that has been a big help in selling my continuing expansion of items that I sell, which is from books to vintage clothes. I buy at estate sales, garage sales, some thrift stores and it is always fun when you find sleepers. When I do an auction sale and list something for $9.95 and it sells for $136.00 that is fun.

Yes, this is my job that helps my finances, but it is also a lot of fun at times and keeps you going, keeps your mind active which at my age you find you need that extra push.

If you have the necessary ambition to work your own business, because you’re the boss, and no-one is going to be there to keep you going except yourself, you may find it a good opportunity to reach out for something different that you may find that you enjoy. It is work and takes time to establish yourself as being able to do this. But by being consistent it does pay off.
I hope this has been of some interest to you and I hope you may find some area that has been a help. I figure if I can do it, most anybody can, that will apply themselves and are willing to learn.

Thanks for reading this. Pat
